Lyapidevsky TRANSAS Announces Delivery of Mi-171 Helicopter Full Flight Simulator to Omsk Civil Aviation Flight College Named after A. V. LyapidevskyOn 18 December, testing of the Mi-171 helicopter simulator was completed at the Omsk Flight College. This is experience unique for this country, because it is for the first time in twenty years that a simulator of this level has been installed at a state-owned pilot-training school. The up-to-date simulators have so far been purchased by the private companies only. For the first time in Russia a new type simulator for the Mi-171 helicopter has been created and delivered. Mi-171 helicopters are produced by the Ulan-Ude Helicopter Plant. The Mi-171 simulator is suitable for all the exercises necessary for the pre-solo flight crew training. An important consideration is that the simulator permits the LOFT (Line Oriented Flight Training) and CRM (Crew Resource Management) programs to be implemented. This covers emergency training based on actual flight accidents. It is possible to simulate all adverse weather conditions, including the snow blast and dust storm, which is essential in view of the climatic helicopter operation conditions. In Russia, pilots from more than 30 countries are successfully trained on the TRANSAS simulators. The delivery of this simulator is a major step on the way to improve the crew competency level, flight safety and effectiveness on this helicopter type. It is very important that the future start their airmanship training in the conditions, as close as possible to the actual ones. This task is successfully accomplished owing to the unique, unparalleled “Aurora” visual system, the helicopter mathematic model created in cooperation with the Moscow Mil Helicopter Plant, excellent software and a spherical type screen. TRANSAS is a recognised leader in the area of manufacturing helicopter simulators which have become the main flight personnel training aid in the Russian Federation. TRANSAS hi-tech made much of worldwide. Collaboration with the Omsk Flight College, the oldest school in Siberia, will definitely prove to be beneficial for both parties. This collaboration is extremely important now, when the college is coming into the world market. So, the Mi-171 helicopter simulator has successfully passed the tests. It will start operating next year. TRANSAS would like to express their appreciation to all the participants of the project, especially to the Federal Air Transport Agency of the RF Ministry of Transport and the Omsk Flight College who chose TRANSAS as a contractor under this project. |
